Certified homebuyer education is now just a click away for JustChoice Lending's customers: 

FAHE is one of five Kentucky organizations to offer eHome America, an online course on the homebuying process and homeownership responsibilities. Developed by NeighborWorks® America, the eHome America program was designed around their “Realizing the American Dream” educational text. The online program is especially useful for people who can’t come to classes in person due to distance or scheduling difficulties. eHome America includes numerous educational videos, interactive forms and other downloadable materials designed to enhance understanding of the homebuying process. Lessons vary from how much house one can afford to working with real estate professionals to selecting the right mortgage. These lessons are critical in our current economic times. Proper homebuyer education has been shown to dramatically reduce foreclosure rates, especially among low- and moderate-income families. A recent study of NeighborWorks organizations shows that borrowers with counseling from NeighborWorks organizations are 10 times less likely to go into foreclosure than similar subprime borrowers.

The eHome America course takes eight hours to complete and costs $50. Every person who takes the course will also be directly connected to a NeighborWorks organization, like FAHE's JustChoice Lending, to insure any one-on-one counseling needs are met. Once students complete all of the material and online tests, they receive an official Certificate of Completion to be presented to their lenders. eHome America satisfies homeownership education requirements by state housing agencies and other governmental entities.
